Currently
in production, Mickey Ruskin is a feature documentary about
legendary New York City restaurateur and owner of the famed Max’s
Kansas City.
Wound
around the figure of one man, Mickey Ruskin is the story
of how an everyman found himself in the middle of one of the most
important, influential, exciting and ground breaking times in New
York City cultural history. |
|
Over
ninety interviews were conducted during the filming to include visits
with painters, actors, poets, sculptors, photographers, politicians,
writers, restaurateurs, and filmmakers. Shot in a variety of formats,
and rich with the images and sounds of the city that made cultural
history, Mickey Ruskin is a glimpse backstage to the vibrant,
fickle, exciting, heady world of the arts in New York City from
1960-1983 as recounted by a |
|
chorus
of artists, friends, family and customers, back dropped by the poignant,
personal story of a man and his love affair with the arts and New
York City. |
